Ernesto Jorge De Gouvea

November 20, 1934 —

When I changed my milonga routine on Wednesdays in late September to Obelisco Tango, so did Jorge to dance with me.  His table is right next to mine.  I have the pleasure of two or three tandas with him.

    Thank you Janis.

I came across your blog after many frustrated online attempts at tango guidance. I loved your refreshing insistence on the simplicity of the dance and its true spirit beyond mere technique. Your words rekindled my hope and strengthened my resolve to give myself a chance to experience tango.

I came here from London to realise an old dream of traveling to South America. I’m here for another 8 days and I cannot leave without going to a milonga. Yet I feel unsure. I read of how you helped this girl from India back in 2014 and was wondering if there’s a chance to catch a lesson with you?

I really enjoyed our class and letting you wear my tango shoes for practice. We have so many things in common in life, and now we share tango.
