These are apartments I know and recommend in Balvanera to tango tourists.  It is best to reserve at least six months in advance or when you have your travel dates.

  • New studio apartment with balcony, kitchen and full bath in elevator building (new construction completed 2009) in Balvanera on Alsina and Matheu.  Monthly rental $800 USD with 50% deposit.  Walk to El Beso (Balvanera), El Arranque (San Nicolas), Lo de Celia (Constitucion), Club Gricel (San Cristobal) and Centro Region Leonesa (Constitucion).  Cable TV, DSL Internet, air-conditioning, and voice mail.  Two blocks to subte; Bus lines on Alsina and Matheu.  jantango@gmail.com for inquiries about Victoria Arejola’s apartment.

  • Humberto I 1274 in Constitucion (two blocks to Centro Region Leonesa, five blocks to Lo de Celia) $40USD/day or $550USD/month.  Available after December 1, 2009.

If you are interested in staying in a luxurious boutique hotel in Palermo Soho, I recommend Aura Suites Boutique Hotel   I know the owner who dances tango and have been to the house for a party.  She renovated her former residence last year.  Daily rates are $75-125 USD per day.  The hotel is convenient to Salon Canning and other tango venues in Palermo.
