Bajo nivel means low level, words I’ve heard too often recently from seasoned milongueras, and I agree with them. These women have many years in the milongas and no longer find partners at the level they had years ago .
There are still lots of men at the milongas, and many of them go to dance with the younger foreign women. The level of dance is going down. And there is nothing we can do about it. The milongueros viejos are a vanishing species from another era. A tanda with one of them is a treasure. At least we still have a few of them at Lo de Celia.
